First off, I apologize on the lack of consistency in content for this site. This summer has been a busy one! The months of May and June were devoted fully to my wedding which took place on June 30th. I am loving married life! However, running really took a back seat this summer.
Ever since the NYC half marathon, I have been battling off and on shin pain. This has made it very hard to get any consistent training in the books. I managed to squeak out a 5k in June, but most of the summer was spent resting the legs and cross training when possible. Follow me on Strava for updates on my workouts.
This past weekend I ran the Philly 10k and for the first time in a while, my shins felt great. Of course, I was so focused on nursing my shins I neglected to realize the toll running in the heat would have. Needless to say, it was still a huge confidence booster going into the fall racing season.
I needed to make changes to the tentative racing schedule for the fall. The next big race on my agenda is the Baltimore Half Marathon which is in late October. I will also aim to do the Philadelphia half marathon for the third consecutive year. This whole race season will hopefully culminate with my first full marathon in early January in Disney.
Keep an eye out for more consistent updates, including a review of the Philly 10k coming soon!
